Foundation Mission and Programs Overview – TKD Sports and Health Foundation

Tae Kwon Do Won Training and Event Center

TaeKwonDoWon is an International advanced training and event center in South Korea. The facility sole purpose is the training people from all over the world on the advanced values of Tae Kwon Do.

We have a select group of Students and Masters who qualified to go to TaeKwonDoWon for an International Competition and Training Event. The 7 Students and 2 Masters are traveling to Korea on July 12th and returning on July 21st of 2017. There 5 days of Advanced Training and Competition and we wish to Sponsor this event by issuing 2 Grants.

The First Grant will be for up to $2,000 for the Special Team Uniforms and the required Training Equipment needed for the trip.

Second a Grant in the Amount of Up to $3,500 per Student and/or Master to Cover the Airfare and housing expense charged by TaeKwonDoWon, if we are not capable of issuing the Full Grant we shall issue a Grant in a Pro-Rata Basis to the Students and Masters.

We are Sponsoring this event in Two Major and Important ways,

First we wish to issue a grant to the event which will pay all the entry fee's and other expenses for all of the Special Needs Competitors. These Special Needs Competitors have been diagnosed with Down Syndrome and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We are looking to give this event a Grant for up to $3,000 for this purpose.

Second is a general sponsorship to the event for all the Competitors of all ages. We hope to issue a grant for $2,000 to the main event, which will be utilized necessary equipment and to refund competitors entry fee's on a pro-rata basis on the actual amount we can sponsor.

TKDSHF is a Florida Public Charity 501c-3 Not for Profit Organization that supports individuals, families, and organizations which promote Health and Education through Sports, Sporting activities and events, and similar programs.

Purpose, Mission, Core Ideals:

Sponsor – Sporting Activities and Events. Host Seminars for Athletes, Coaches, Judges, and Referees

Educate – Athletes, Coaches, Judges, and Referees on nutritional health and wellbeing, as well as teaching the advantages of a healthy lifestyle

Spread Awareness On Sports Disciplines – Sportsmanship, Discipline, Organized Activities, Interactivity of People, Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, Indomitable Spirit (Never give up attitude)

Sponsor and Educate Children and Adults for a Better and Healthier Lifestyle, through Nutrition Education, Sports Involvement, such as but not limited to Taekwondo, Golf, Volleyball, Baseball, Softball and any other organized and accredited sporting activities.

Develop and Increase Awareness of TaeKwonDo and all Sports within Florida and its Communities.

TKD Sports and Health Foundation, Corp promotes the growth and development of all Sports such as TaeKwonDo within the state of Florida through the sponsoring and/or hosting of events, seminars, and other sporting activities designed to grow the interest of Sporting Activities such as Taekwondo. We strive to support and provide equitable support and encouragement for participation in all Sports Programs for male and female athletes, Coaches, Judges, and Referees without discrimination based on race, color, religion, age, sex, and/or national origin.

We have partnered with existing local Sports Clubs, TaeKwonDo Schools as well as State and National Governing Bodies within the sport of TaeKwonDo and other sports as well.

These programs are funded with donations from Individuals and Businesses.

TKD Sports and Health Foundation, Corp. helped found, set up, and currently manage the Florida Sport Taekwondo Federation, Inc. (“FST”).

The purpose of FST shall be to inspire Florida athletes, coaches, and referees to achieve sustained competitive excellence in the sport of Taekwondo in Florida, to represent and support all Florida’s Taekwondo athletes, coaches, and referees, to form partnerships with State and National Associations where necessary to fulfill the Corporations purpose and to serve as the State Governing Body for the sport of Taekwondo under the authority of the USA Taekwondo, (“USATKD”) or any other National Governing Board or Association the Corporation deems necessary. Furthermore, FST is committed to providing the necessary programs, services, and support for all Taekwondo participants by providing a safe and positive environment as well as demonstrating high athletic skill, self-discipline, humility, indomitable spirit, and expression of Olympic ideals required to excel in the sport. The Specific purpose of this corporation is to be:

The Recognized State Sanctioned Organization – Maintain the Recognition as the Florida State Organization Sanctioned by USA Taekwondo (“USATKD”) the National Governing body for Sport Taekwondo and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee or any other National Governing Body, Board or Association the Corporation deems necessary to fulfill its purpose.
Sponsor – By hosting the Annual Florida State Championship and State Team Trials, Sporting Events, and Seminars for Athletes, Coaches, and Referees.
Educate – Athletes, Coaches, and Referees on nutritional health and advantages for a healthy lifestyle.
Spread Awareness on Sports Disciplines – Sportsmanship, Discipline, Organized Activities, Interactivity of People, Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, Indomitable Spirit.
To develop interest and participation throughout the state in the sport of Taekwondo and the martial art of Taekwondo.
To provide the opportunity for state, national or international amateur sporting events and training for Florida Athletes, Coaches, and Referees in Taekwondo competitions.
To provide competitive Taekwondo opportunities for all ages and levels of ability.
To provide an annual Florida State Championship, State Team, and Training for State Team.
To sponsor State Team to compete in National and International competition(s).
To provide and coordinate technical information on physical training, coaching, and refereeing.
To encourage, promote, sponsor and support publications, institutes, clinics, seminars, the establishment of scholarships, institution and maintenance of training aids and facilities, research, development, education idealism of martial arts as promoted by the World Taekwondo, USATKD, Pan American Taekwondo Union and any other State, National or International organization the Corporations deems necessary and the dissemination of information in the areas of sports medicine and sports safety.
To provide equitable support and encouragement for participation in Taekwondo programs for male and female Taekwondo athletes without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, age, sex, or national origin;
To encourage physical fitness and to improve the quality of both competitive and non-competitive Taekwondo among those who participate solely for the physical, educational, or social benefits derived therefrom;
